Abstract

This article is part of a conference given at the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán on September 23, 1996. It describes how the university is changing and adopting new ways of conceiving education and instruction, where evaluation has a place, which raises the following questions: What are the forces and influences at work within a contemporary university? How does the university express our times? How does the university operate both in the present and the future?
