Abstract

This article describes an educational experience, a seminar on statistical thinking delivered to students of biological and agricultural sciences. It highlights the importance of statistical literacy and thinking in the education of these students. Through the analysis of the participants' interests and motivations, the seminar was adapted to address key concepts of statistical thinking. It was exemplified with a real case in ecotoxicology, emphasizing the importance of a practical approach in statistical education. Finally, the evolution of the participants' understanding and key lessons learned is analyzed, emphasizing the relevance of statistical literacy and statistical thinking in their academic development.
