The present and future of constant university teachers training

The purpose of this paper is to provide a theoretical and thoughtful review on the subject of current trends and future challenges in the constant teacher training of University teachers. The study used documentary analysis as a basis for research. The text is based on a rigorous analysis of the different plans of permanent teacher training institutes offering of educational
sciences of the Spanish universities. The analysis allows finding that, in terms of trends in training in Spain and probably in Europe, it is moving towards adaptation to the requirements of the European Higher Education Area. It is also interesting to note that teacher training is moving towards reflection on their own practice, a future challenge that is powering but still has some way to go.
