Research into the undergraduate studies. A way to develop learning in social science students
Keywords:

This article presents some of the results that emerged from student responses to the "Questionnaire on Academic and Professional Perspectives in Undergraduate Students" (CPAPEP). The CPAPEP was applied to two groups of undergraduate students from the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences (FCPYS) at the Autonomous National University of Mexico to identify differences in the level of development of core professional skills. The obtained results suggest that, although at different levels and intensities, there is a greater relationship between capacity building and learning construction for students who participate as research scholars than students who have not had that experience. The results shown here are relevant because they allow for a reassessment of the formative function of research as a substantive part of teaching work in social sciences programs.
