The study aims to achieve a better understanding of academic achievement and determinant factors at the Universidad Autonoma Agraria Antonio Narrio. For that purpose, the research analyses the admission data of the 1,841 applicants in 2011 and the subsequent academic achievements of the 1,367 undergraduate students after five years. The results show that population assumed in an academic disadvantage because of an indigenous origin, attending a public high school, minimum parents’ school education and poverty got lower grades in the standardized admission test; however, they had higher graduation rates, less lagging and less failing rates. Previous High school grade averages seemed to be better academic achievement predictors than EXANI II grades, and they had lower correlation with the socioeconomic variables of the applicants.
